The Matilde Tamayo Foundation was created in November 2015 by its president Francisco Pérez Tamayo, a native of Arties (Val d’Aran). The old house of Doctor Forcada, Calle Era Carrera nº 49, Les (Valle de Arán) is acquired as the initial headquarters of the Foundation, currently the new headquarters are in Martorell, Barcelona. By consensus of the Board of Trustees, the President’s mother is named as Honorary President and Matilde Tamayo is named to the Foundation. Being a tribute to all the women who emigrated in the 50-60 to Val d’Aran to form a family, leaving behind their families to create a new one.
Por motivos de salud del padre (silicosis con invalidez permanente) la familia tuvo que marchar a Barcelona para que la madre, Matilde Tamayo, pudiera trabajar y sacar a la familia adelante.
El 22 de Febrero de 1959 nace Francisco Pérez Tamayo, en Artíes (Valle de Arán). Hijo de Francisco Pérez Tamayo y Matilde Tamayo Martínez
